Shalom bros & sisters,
Last nite's lesson by Ps Teoh reminded me of a testimony from almost 8 yrs ago. Pls allow me to share it wt all of you.
I used to go to the back lanes of Jalan Alor in Bkt Bintang to distribute packed food for the street ppl esp drug addicts there, share the gospel and pray for them.
On one of those sessions, a regular recipient of my "nasi lemak" told me that a fellow addict is in very serious condition, has not been able to get up for a few days, has not eaten and has been motionless, probably dying. So he asked me to go pray for him.
When i reached the abandoned bungalow (which is now some foreign restaurant), this man was lying at a dark corner on a rattan mat. The stench was really horrible. He has been passing motion and vomiting over dunno how many days. I found out that he has full blown AIDS and his right thigh was terribly rotten with gangrene from injecting heroin into his veins there. KLGH has rejected him at his last visit so he was just left abandoned in that place to die.
I squat down beside him and tried to talk to him. He can hardly talk. I told him tat Jesus loves him and asked him if he wanted to accept Christ into his heart and be forgiven. He nodded and can barely say yes so i told him to follow me in the Salvation prayer in his heart if he cant speak. And i led him to pray. When we finished praying, he uttered if i can ask Jesus to heal him. He said he wanted at least a few more days to go back to Ipoh to see his parents and fmly and probably say goodbye to them. I told him tat if he believed, Jesus can surely heal him as He has done for so many in the Bible. As i was still a new believer then, i didnt know how to pray for healing so i called my friend who pastors a street church in Chow Kit to come pray for this man.
Ps Robert arrived about 30mins later. We had a short time of praise and worship and prayed in tongues a little while. After tat Ps Robert and i laid hands on this man and prayed to God to heal him.....however, there was a bit of unbelief in my heart as this man's condition is realy severe. So in my heart, i asked the Lord for mercy to end his suffering and take him home. In faith, i went to buy a bowl of porridge and left it beside this man before we went home, in case he is healed and need food. When we parted ways, Ps Robert suggested that we come back the following morning to either thank God for healing this man or to bring his body to the morgue.
The following morning, i arrived at the place around 10am. The 2 other addicts who were sharing that place with the dying man quickly met me to sharing an amazing testimony with me. Apparently, after we left, the dying man started to moan and groan loudly but, after a short while, he stopped and became silent. His friends tot he has died and went to sleep. In the early morning, they were awakened by very loud shouting and laughing by the guy who was dying! They were shocked! They asked him what happened and how he suddenly has so much energy to even stand up, shout and even to laugh?! He told them that in the middle of the night, a man in bright, long, white and glowing robes visited him. He said this man told him in Cantonese that he is "Ye Su" and that He laid His hand on his head and patted him like a small child. This man said he started crying like a baby! Jesus told him that He loves him and will heal him. He described that when Jesus' hand was on his head, he felt a warm sensation flowing from his head to all parts of his body. Shortly afters, he fell asleep again. When he woke up, he found tat he has strength and the pain in his body is gone so he started to shout and laugh and praise the Lord with Hallelujah! He then asked this 2 friends if they can give him some money to go back to Ipoh to see his fmly. They gave him whatever proceeds they earned from "jaga kereta" the preceding night and sent him off to Puduraya. As a result of this testimony, one of these 2 addicts also accepted the Lord and agreed to come to the drug rehabilitation centre in Chow Kit!
PRAISE THE LORD!
So, bros and sisters in Christ. Be encouraged in the Lord. He is with you and will take care of you! Amen!
